Fostering Hope

There is a serious need in the Treasure Valley to help out children in hard situations who are coming into foster care. This means that there is an opportunity for us to support local foster children in our community by providing for their practical needs! When kids come into foster care a lot of the time they don’t have essential items needed and we would love to bless these children by providing it for them.

If you or your Lifegroup feel led to donate or have any questions please contact Emely Campbell at emelycampbell92@gmail.com for an updated list of needs. Donations can be dropped off on Sundays to the Fostering Hope Box by the Compass Kids check-in area. Our collection of donations will be combined with Bibles and the 3 Most Important Words for Kids packet.

The deadline for these donations is December 10th! Let’s make an impact on these foster kids and their foster families this Christmas season by showing them Christ’s love through meeting these immediate practical needs.

Application Questions:

A World In Need of Saving
Finding Grace in a Wicked World
Genesis 6

Application Questions

  1. Read Ephesians 4:30. What are some ways you think your words or actions have grieved the Holy Spirit of God over the past week? How can the grief that God feels over sin properly motivate you towards holiness this week?

  2. Read Luke 18:9-14. Who might you be tempted to include in a list of people you feel “better than” like this Pharisee? Why are you not actually better than them without justification through God’s grace?

  3. Read Isaiah 66:2. In what ways do you think you most struggle to humble yourself before God? (If you’re brave enough, ask a close friend or your spouse how they would answer this question for you!) How can the promise of grace toward the humble encourage you in these areas?

  4. If obedience is a fruit of faith, think about the ways you struggle to obey and consider how that reflects a lack of trust in God. In the ways you are struggling to obey, what do you think you are failing to believe about God, his word, and his promises?

  5. Read Genesis 6:8. As you celebrate Thanksgiving this week, spend extra time considering God’s grace. What are some ways that God has graciously shown favor to you over the last year?
