APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Review as many of these biblical promises as you can over the next week: Psalm 23:6, 84:11; Lamentations 3:22-23; John 10:27-30; Romans 8:28-29; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Philippians 4:19; Hebrews 13:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3-5. As you meditate on these verses, how will believing these promises transform your life?
Read Romans 4:3-8. Why is the doctrine of justification by faith so important to our assurance of salvation?
Think through some of the ways you might struggle to obey God. What are some specific promises that can motivate you toward obedience in these areas? (You might use some of the verses listed under question 1.)
Read Psalm 126:5. Have you seen the reality of this verse play out in your own life? How can you trust God that you will reap joy in the future if you are sowing in tears in the present?
Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. While we can trust that God will be faithful in his promises during our lives, how can we encourage ourselves with God’s promises that are unseen and will be fulfilled in eternity?
