Men’s Retreat 2024 Registration Is Live!

This Fall, we will gather for the 4th annual Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley Men's Retreat in McCall, Idaho at the Quaker Hill Conference Center.

The theme for this year’s retreat is Well Worn.

God calls men to hard work (Col 3:23). We are to be men who pour ourselves out to lead our wives (Eph 5:25-33) and children (Eph 6:4). We are to be men who are the chief servants within the church, calling others to imitate our faith (1 Cor 11:1). We are to be men who run the race of Christianity with a sense of purpose and fortitude (1 Cor 9:24-27). We are to be men who are disciplined planners who don't procrastinate our responsibilities (Prov 6:6-8). We are to be men with worn out Bibles, knees, and hands, leaving everything we've got on the field of life as we run the race for God's glory alone. Men of Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley, join us for the 2024 Men's Retreat where we will search God's Word for what it means to be a ”well worn" man for the kingdom of God.

Be sure to encourage the men in your life groups to register and attend this important weekend for our men’s ministry.

You can register for the retreat here. And as a gift to all of our deacons, we are giving you the flannel add-on. Please select it with your registration and use code DEACON at check out.

Thanksgiving Offering Update

We have raised over $56,000 so far through the generosity of our church in the thanksgiving offering for Compass Bible Church Hill Country’s renovations and our own. Praise God for His faithfulness, for the generosity of His church, and continue to pray that God would use both of these facilities for making disciples of Jesus for His Glory.

Application Questions:

Summer in the Psalms
Out of the Depths
Psalm 130

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

  1.  Read 1 Peter 5:6-7. According to this verse, humility is connected to casting our anxieties on God. How can failing to look to God when you are in trouble be a symptom of pride in your own life?

  2. What are some of the things/people you might turn to for help before God? What does this reveal about your heart?

  3. Read Psalm 103:13. Meditate on this image of a father showing compassion to his children. How does this encourage you to look to God through the difficulties of life—including your own sin?

  4. Read Psalm 27:14. What are some situations in your life that are troublesome to you? What will it practically look like for you to “wait on the Lord” and follow the instruction of this verse in those instances?

  5. Read Psalm 130:7-8. What are some biblical future expectations you should have as a Christian that help you hope in God? (These could be based on God’s characteristics or promises he has made to his people.)
