Seven Days to the Deacon Retreat – Here Are the Details
We are excited to gather together for our annual Deacon Retreat next weekend. We are thankful for all of the work you pour into the body of Christ and we pray that it will be a fruitful and encouraging weekend. We wanted to give you some details about the weekend so that you can get a sense of what the schedule will be:
Friday: 5:45pm-9:30pm Dinner at Indian Creek Steakhouse (in the Balcony Room)
After dinner, we will be walking down to Section 37 for some axe throwing funSaturday: 8:30am-12pm Breakfast and Training Sessions
Hampton Inn and Suites Boise-Meridian - 875 S Allen St, Meridian, ID 83642We hope that this will be a great opportunity to enjoy some downtime with others that are running hard for the Lord and to get to know some other highly committed participants at Compass Bible Church. If you cannot make it, please reach out as soon as possible. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

Read Psalm 73:1-15. Have you ever felt like the Psalmist here? What are some of the inappropriate or unhelpful ways you may respond to the injustice, oppression, and greed in the world?
Read Psalm 73:16-22. What are some of the limits of human justice? Why is it comforting to know that God will eventually bring perfect justice?
Read Psalm 73:23-28. What are some specific parts of the Psalmist’s conclusion that are particularly helpful to you? Choose to meditate on these things this week!
Read Ecclesiastes 3:22. Be honest – what are some of the things that make it hard for you to be content with the work God has put in front of you? What from these past few weeks in Ecclesiastes can help you think differently about that? How can you view your lot in life as “gift, not gain”?
Read Ecclesiastes 4:4-6. Both greed on the one hand and laziness on the other are enemies of a truly godly perspective about work? How might these things tempt you this week, and how will you counter these temptations with God’s Word?
