Revival Coffee Soft Launch

This Sunday is the soft launch of Revival Coffee, between our services. It will be located in the back kitchen, just outside the back door of the Boiler Room. We are not advertising this to everyone as we are still working out the kinks. It is the soft launch, so please come with low expectations and high grace and patience! Also, please note - we will charge for the drinks (basically to cover costs for making them).

Prayer In Life Groups

As a reminder from Deacons Retreat - the pastors would like each Life Group to begin each meeting with prayer, Boiler Room style. Start by spending some time praising God in worship in light of that week’s sermon, then spend time asking for God’s help in applying the sermon. Let’s be faithful in living out our fifth distinctive: We have a genuine reliance upon prayer!

Application Questions:

The Intersection of Pain & Providence
From Prison to the Palace
Genesis 40-41

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

  1. Read Isaiah 44:6-8. What scares you most about the future? What are some other things you might run to in order to know or try to control the future besides God? Why are these things so dramatically inferior to God?

  2. Read 1 Peter 5:6-7. What will it look like for you to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, especially when there is something in your life that is “taking too long”?

  3. Read Genesis 40:8 & 41:16. What are some situations in your life where you need to acknowledge God like Joseph did? What will that look like?

  4. In what ways might you be tempted to be a “resentful rememberer” instead of a “fruit forgetter”? What are some of the things you need to “forget” so that your life might bear godly fruit?

  5. In what ways should the truth of God’s providence encourage you to be a wise worker? What can this look like at home, at work, or in ministry?
