REMINDER: Tomorrow, Saturday 10/19, we are gathering at the church as men, at 6pm, for dinner, fellowship, and a time of prayer together as we look forward to next week’s Men’s Retreat.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS
What other biblical examples can you think of where God takes what, from a human perspective, looks like a mess and uses it to accomplish his plan and promises? How should that shape your perspective this week?
Read James 3:13-18. In what situations/relationships are you most tempted by “bitter jealousy” and “selfish ambition”? How can you replace these things with what is described in verse 17?
Read Ecclesiastes 5:10-12. How can this truth that more money will not lead to contentment apply to other things in life? What are some of the things that you might be tempted to believe can bring contentment in this life apart from Christ?
Read Luke 1:46-55. How does this familiar text usually associated with Christmas speak to the character of God? How can this encourage you in difficult situations?
Read Psalm 13:6. Even if you are in a painful situation, what are some of the ways God has dealt bountifully with you?
