Reagan & Julie Schiewe Are Arriving This Week!

Pray for Reagan & Julie Schiewe as they arrive this week. Reagan starts as the Director of Rooted and our Singles Ministry. Be sure to also welcome them next Sunday or as you see them around the church! We are excited that God has brought them to CBCTV and we pray in anticipation of all that God will do through their efforts in Rooted, Singles, and beyond.

Pray for the National Equipped Conference

The National Equipped Conference, Reliance On Prayer, kicked off on Friday evening! Pray for the several people from our church who traveled to the conference, that they would be encouraged and strengthened in their prayer life! Pray for all of the Compass Bible Church attendees to grow in a way that results in all of the churches in our network to have a more genuine reliance on prayer.

Push the Following Christ Class

If there is anyone in your Life Group who would benefit from the class Following Christ, that starts on June 21st during the 8:15 service, please share the registration with them. Here is the description: The Christian life is to be LIVED! In this 6-week course, we'll walk through the basics of living life in Christ. Maybe you're new to being a Christian and want to grow in how you live out your faith, or perhaps you've been a Christian for a while and feel compelled to get the basics down. Either way, this course will strengthen your daily walk with God as we focus on topics like Listening to God, Talking to God, Meeting with God's Family, Meeting the World, Living in Hope, and more.

Sunday’s Sermon:

The Call to Corporate Worship

Colossians 3:16

  1. How do you currently prepare for corporate worship on Sundays? What are some practical ways you could better prepare yourself and your household to arrive ready for corporate worship?

  2. What usually determines whether you sing on a Sunday morning? How reliable are those things as motivations for worship? Is your participation in corporate worship more often a reflection of your circumstances or a response to God’s character and truth? Explain.

  3. Read Hebrews 10:23–25. How would your approach to corporate worship change if you viewed yourself as a contributor and not only a consumer?

  4. When you are struggling with discontentment, anxiety, anger, or discouragement, how can corporate worship help reorient your heart?

  5. How has the worship of other believers strengthened your faith? Is there a hymn or worship song God has recently used to convict, encourage, or help you? Explain.
