Fall Meetings With Your Core Group

Life Group Leaders, the next set of Core Group discussion questions are now on the Life Group Leader Training Course page here. PLEASE NOTE: The dates on the next two meetings (meetings 5 & 6) have changed. We moved those dates back to late September and October to give you more time to get through the video training series and meet with your Core Group for a meaningful discussion. Perhaps now is a good time to get a few dates on the calendar so that once the ministry schedule picks up again in September you are already committed to meeting up.

Pray for Camp Compass!

As you will see with your own eyes this weekend, the team is going ALL OUT. The kids that attend Camp Compass are in for a great week. Let’s all be praying, especially as Deacons, for God to do great things through this camp, ultimately resulting in the salvation of young souls! Here is the schedule for the Bible teaching each day. Use this as a prayer list to pray specifically for these hearts on a daily basis:

Day 1 Theme - Rock
1 Samuel 2:2
“There is none holy like the LORD: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.

Day 2 Theme - Fortress
Psalm 18:2a
2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock

Day 3 Theme - Refuge
Psalm 61:4
4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!

Day 4 Theme - Foundation
Luke 6:48a
48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.

Day 5 Theme - Savior
2 Samuel 22:1-6
4 I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

Sunday’s Sermon:

Guilty - Dangers of False Assurance: Ceremony

Romans 2:25-29

  1. Read Romans 1:25. In our cultural, we generally don’t think of circumcision as something that makes us right with God, but what ARE some external or ritualistic things we may be tempted to put stock in? Do you think you are or have been tempted to trust in these things?

  2. Read Psalm 51:16-17. Describe what a broken and contrite heart practically looks like? Is this how you respond to sin in your own life?

  3. Read Matthew 23:25-28. How can these problems also be common in modern-day churches? How can you

    avoid these pitfalls?

  4. Serving the church is clearly a good thing, but what will be different if you are doing it for the praise that comes from God instead of the praise that comes from men?

  5. Read 1 Corinthians 4:5. What do your private life and your home life reveal about how much you value the glory that comes from God?
