335 Kids Signed Up, We Need Help! - As of writing this there are 335 kids signed up for Camp Compass! Praise God! But with this many kids (and surely more to sign up), we could use some more help! Will you share with your group that we could still use a few volunteers. Here’s a pre-written note you could copy and paste to your group if that’s helpful: Are you able to serve at this year’s Camp Compass? Our biggest need is for more small group leaders. Why is “later” such a dangerous word when it comes to developing the right habits that will help us toward godliness? Why is pursuing godliness always an urgent task?
Honestly evaluate your quality and consistency in practicing the spiritual disciplines discussed in this message. What are some ways you would like to see yourself grow in these areas in the coming weeks?
Read 2 Peter 1:5-7. Honestly evaluate your own character with regard to each of the eight traits listed in these verses. Pick two of these characteristics to prayerfully focus on. Which two will you pick and why?
Read 1 Timothy 4:8. What are some of the ways you have seen godliness “hold promise” even in this life? How does that encourage you to continue to pursue godliness?
Read James 1:2-4. How does the perspective of these verses encourage you in light of the difficulties (known and unknown) that you will face this week?
