Sunday’s Sermon: So That The World May Worship- Psalm 67

  1. Read Genesis 12:1-3. What was God’s foundational reason for calling out Abraham from his country to go and become a new nation? What does this tell you about God and his ways?

  2. What does Psalm 67:1-2 teach us about praying for our own needs and wants? How has the negative influence of “health and wealth” prosperity gospel of the past century hurt or curtailed our prayers to this end? How does Psalm 67:1-2 not teach the prosperity gospel?

  3. Why do you think the mission of God’s people shifted from a “come and see” in the Old Testament to “go and tell” in the New Testament? What factors may have resulted in this change? What does this mean for us today?

  4. Read 2 Corinthians 8:13-15. How can we practically and strategically apply this passage and Psalm 67 to our church context today? How does this shape your thinking on missions and giving as an individual?
