APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Read Psalm 7:11. What are some of the reasons we may tend to downplay the seriousness of sin and the righteous indignation that God has toward it? What will some of the negative ramifications be in our lives from a failure to take sin seriously?
Read 1 John 1:9. In what ways do you find it most difficult to admit your own sin/guilt? What is this failure costing you?
What are some other verses/passages that should motivate you to be quicker to admit your sin? What will the benefits be of freely admitting your guilt?
Read Hebrews 12:11. What does “peaceful fruit of righteousness” mean and what are some of the ways that fruit could look like in your life? How is this peaceful fruit of righteousness an expression of God’s grace?
Read Psalm 103:8-13. What does this passage, as well as the notes of grace we see in the story of Tamar, tell us about the character of God? How will you worship God in light of this reality this week?
