Please register for our annual Deacon Retreat on January 16-17. Similar to previous years, we will kick off the weekend with dinner at the church building starting at 6pm on Friday with a formal end time of 9pm (but feel free to stay and fellowship as long as you’d like). We will gather back up on Saturday at 8am for breakfast and training by the Pastors. In the registration you will be asked for your shirt size. Please note that the giveaway will be printed in both a men's and women's cut. Please register by Friday 12/20 to provide enough time for printing.
Sunday’s Sermon:
The Fuel of Faithful Ministry
1 Timothy 6:11-16
Read 1 Timothy 6:11. Focus on the last two traits recommended by this verse:steadfastness & gentleness. What are some difficult situations or relationships in your life where you need to display these virtues? How can the realities of eternal life & divine
accountability help you cultivate these things?Read 1 Timothy 6:12. How would your service to God improve in quality if you are truly holding onto the realities of eternal life and all that is yours in Christ?
Read 1 Timothy 1:15-16. As you look at this description of God in these verses, how is the character of God an encouragement to you? How does knowing who God is put fuel into your fight of faith?
Now how is this description of God a challenge or convicting to you? How can knowing who God is help you remain “unstained” and “free from reproach”?
Read 2 Corinthians 5:9-10. How can a sense of divine accountability bring a level of simplicity to your life? How will it help you to simply focus on “pleasing him” this week?
