OVERCOMING THE WORLD
JOHN 16:23-33
As you reflect on our study of John 15-16, what stands out to you? In what ways do you think you will be more “fruitful in a famine” because of what you’ve learned from these texts?
Read Matthew 7:7-11. How does this passage bolster your confidence in prayer? What keeps you taking a passage like this at face value?
Read John 14:13-14, 15:7, 15:16, 16:23-24. As you consider these passages on prayer, what needs to change in your own prayer life to bring your prayers more in line with the biblical pattern.
Read Psalm 73:26. How can focusing on the strength of God shown in the victory of Jesus’ resurrection encourage and strengthen you even in light of your own failure?
Read John 16:33. How can this verse keep you from becoming overly pessimistic as our culture becomes more and more opposed to God?

4. Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. How will the reality of resurrection impact the way you think about ministry, evangelism, and suffering?
5. Read 1 Corinthians 15:49. What excites you most about “bearing the image of the man of heaven”? How can that affect your joy this week?

Can You Ask for Exploring Compass Host Homes?
We Could Still Use Some Camp Compass Volunteers
Important Info:
Can You Ask for Exploring Compass Host Homes? - Exploring Compass seems to be getting more popular and the registrations are filling up each time! Which is great, but we could use a few more host homes. What’s the commitment? The host needs to be available for two Sundays in a row from 4:30-7:30 pm to host dinner and a discussion for 25 adults (and 15 children that will be watched by volunteers in another room or outside). If we get enough host homes, we might only need one family to do this once a year. If anyone in your Life Group is available or wants more information, please have them contact Craig Lee, who is running the Connect Team, at craiglee23@outlook.com.
We Could Still Use Some Camp Compass Volunteers - If anyone in your Life Group has the ability to serve at Camp Compass, will you get them connected to Morgan? On Thursday, July 8th, from 6:30-8 pm at Legacy Life church, there will be a walkthrough for all Camp Compass volunteers. And if someone is considering serving at Camp Compass they should come! Please have them email morgan@compassbible.tv if they have any questions.

Introduce New People to Taking Ground
Let Your Group Know About Ignite Needs
Getting Partners Graduates Registered
Important Info:
Introduce New People to Taking Ground - This Sunday, Pastor Ben will give a brief update on project Taking Ground. Please be sure to listen and relay any critical information to those interested in your Life Group, especially newer folks who weren't here when we launched the project. It might be good to talk about Taking Ground with new people to the church who join your Life Group as a good practice. Send them to the site and walk through any questions they might have, focusing on the three words: invest, work, and pray. This weekend we will continue to emphasize the imperatives of invest, pray, and work and give information that will hopefully motivate the congregation to do so. If there is information you think would help encourage the church that does get mentioned this weekend, let me know so we can include it in future announcements.
Let Your Group Know About Ignite Needs - Will you share with your group that Plants & Pillars still needs volunteers for Ignite? They are looking for people to serve in the kitchen, child care, and the games crew. If they are interested, please have them email Keegan McQuate at keegan@compassbible.tv.
Getting Partners Graduates Registered - Will you share this form with everyone in your Life Group? We want to know everyone who has graduated Partners in the church (including those who went through Partners before this church launched). Our goal is to get an accurate picture of who's been through this program to better disseminate information, training, and events to graduates.

Application Questions
We will be treated to a special message by Pastor Mike Fabarez this weekend.
Read Ezekiel 34:1-6. When you consider the complacency of the religious leaders in Ezekiel’s day and those to whom Christ was directing the parables in Luke 15, what would you say might be the possible points of relevance to well-taught, longtime Christians in our day?
Read Acts 13:45-52. What is at stake when you are too easily discouraged by the unreceptive, and give up on sharing the gospel with the people in your daily life too quickly because you’ve been opposed and rejected by a few?
Read 1 Thessalonians 2:13 and Colossians 4:3-4. Why is the practice in the Colossians passage foundational to the experience of the 1 Thessalonians passage? What specifically will you do to increase your participation in what Paul is calling for in Colossians 4:3-4?
Read Psalm 51:12-15. Why does unconfessed sin in your life all but guarantee you will not be sharing the good news of the gospel with anyone this week?

Application Questions
Read 1 Corinthians 8:1-3. How can you make sure your growth in knowledge as a Christian also leads to a growth in love for God? Think through your personal habits of Bible reading or listening to sermons. What will you do to ensure that these practices affect BOTH your head AND your heart?
How can you guard against growth in knowledge leading to arrogance toward less knowledgeable believers (1 Cor. 8:1) or toward unbelievers (Titus 3:1-7)?
Read Romans 14:23. What are some ways you need to be careful and sensitive toward your own conscience? Remember that these ways will likely extend beyond the “black and white” areas that Scripture addresses to specific situations and convictions in your own life.
Read Romans 14:13. How can you be considerate to those whose conscience may be more sensitive on certain issues than yours? How can you avoid being judgmental of those who consciences lead to convictions that are different than yours?

Camp Compass Registration
Requiring Tickets for Kids Pickup
Ignite Registration Problems Solved
“Links” Nav Added to the Site
Important Info:
Camp Compass Registration - We will be announcing that registration is live this weekend! Here is the link to share with your group. I encourage you to take some time to explain to the new families why Camp Compass is a must for their kids to attend.
Requiring Tickets for Kids Pickup - Now that we have implemented a digital check-in process, we will require that parents have their ticket present when they come to pick up their child after the service. If someone does happen to lose a ticket, we can easily print them another one at any of the printing stations. Requiring tickets allows for us to provide better security for every child in our Kids Ministry program. As leaders, you're going to know each of these teachers more intimately than the rest of the church. Please lead the way by having tickets and not grabbing your children without them. Your example is greatly appreciated!
Ignite Registration Problems Solved - You may have had some people in your Life Group have trouble with the Ignite registration this past week. Keegan has been working hard to clean up the database for Plants & Pillars, and the issues that some folks experienced should be solved. The problem was organizing "households" in our system, which we didn't run into until now. Thanks for your patience as we continue to perfect this new system!
“Links” Nav Added to the Site - There is now a navigation item titled “links” which will help provide a quick way to access all of the latest links that are relevant to the church and events. If you see one missing, let us know! The hope is that this “link” navigation will help you to grab the right info quickly when you’re sending a text to someone in the group or a guest you talk to at church.

Read Ephesians 3:17-19. Why are we often more prone to focusing on our circumstances than the incredible love described in this passage? How can you focus on the love of Christ this week no matter what the circumstances? (There was a typo in here on the notesheets)
Read 1 John 5:3. What difference does it make when we view Christ’s commandments as gracious guidance from a loving Savior rather than arbitrary rules from an overly strict manager?
Read John 4:31-34. In what ways do you need to further align your will to God’s so that you can say what Jesus says here? Why will this mindset lead to greater joy?

Read 1 Timothy 3:14-15. In an age where so many “Christians” seem to be drifting away from this mission to support the truth, why is it so important for churches to remain planted on this biblical foundation? While much of that responsibility rests on the church leadership, how can you as a congregant promote a church culture that is centered on the timeless truth of Spirit-inspired Scripture instead of the fads and whims of the culture?
Read 2 Peter 1:19-21. What are some of the things that might most tempt you to be distracted from a focus on the truth that the Holy Spirit has revealed through the Scriptures? Remember, these may not all be inherently bad things.
Read Ephesians 1:11-12. What comfort can you derive from the reality that God is sovereignly orchestrating the events of history to accomplish his sovereign plan?
Read John 14:30-31. What are the ways you need to remain faithful to the commandments and mission that God has given us?
