Worship Night 9/13
Rest Well
Worship Night 9/13
Join us on Friday, September 13 from 6-8pm at our church building for an evening of fellowship and worship. The theme of the evening will be the fear of the Lord as we seek to worship Him in reverence, adoration, and awe. We’ll enjoy a dessert fellowship from 6-7pm and then transition to a time of worship from 7-8pm. We will not have childcare, but still encourage you to bring your whole family and worship together!
Rest Well
As a church, we intentionally put a pause on much of ministries in the month of August. Be sure to use this time to rest well. The Fall is approaching swiftly and there will be plenty going on once September comes. Take advantage of this slower month to refuel and refresh yourselves in Christ, meditating on Him and His Word as you prepare for a fresh season of ministry for His Glory.
Application Questions:
What You're Known For
Philemon
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Why does Paul appeal to Philemon rather than command him? How does this serve as an example for us as we walk with others through areas of growth?
Out of the ten things to strive to be known for, which one(s) can you commit to growing in more intentionally?
How can you strive for godliness that is known in your community without falling into the temptation of seeking to please man?
Consider the slave/master relationship between Philemon and Onesimus. How does the Gospel reshape that relationship?

Taking Ground Update!
Keep Pressing On
Adventure Club Schedule 24-25
Exciting News About the Land!
We have officially closed escrow on the 17 acres of land off Ustick Rd in West Meridian! Praise God for His faithfulness to our church as He has provided for us these last few weeks with a full-time facility and now with land on which we can build a long term home. Let’s continue to work, give, and pray as we seek to glorify God by making disciples here in the Treasure Valley.
Let’s Go!
Keep Pressing On
Though the decision to discipline Mark Fitzpatrick was difficult, the pastors remain confident that it was necessary and best for the unity and purity of Compass Bible Church. We have also been encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from our church family that sees the biblical necessity and warrant for this decision.
We are incredibly grateful for each of you and want to encourage you to continue reaching out to us if you have questions on how best to walk alongside the people in your ministries and Life Groups. We are excited for the future of our church and remain confident that the best days of ministry are still to come! In the meantime, let's continue to trust the Lord and hold fast to His Word.
Adventure Club Schedule 24-25
Here are the schedules for Tuesday and Thursday night Adventure Club. Be sure to share them with your Life Groups if you meet on one of these nights so that you can be planning your schedules for the coming year!

Men’s Retreat Registration 2024 Is Live!
Thanksgiving Offering Update
Men’s Retreat 2024 Registration Is Live!
This Fall, we will gather for the 4th annual Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley Men's Retreat in McCall, Idaho at the Quaker Hill Conference Center.
The theme for this year’s retreat is Well Worn.
God calls men to hard work (Col 3:23). We are to be men who pour ourselves out to lead our wives (Eph 5:25-33) and children (Eph 6:4). We are to be men who are the chief servants within the church, calling others to imitate our faith (1 Cor 11:1). We are to be men who run the race of Christianity with a sense of purpose and fortitude (1 Cor 9:24-27). We are to be men who are disciplined planners who don't procrastinate our responsibilities (Prov 6:6-8). We are to be men with worn out Bibles, knees, and hands, leaving everything we've got on the field of life as we run the race for God's glory alone. Men of Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley, join us for the 2024 Men's Retreat where we will search God's Word for what it means to be a ”well worn" man for the kingdom of God.
Be sure to encourage the men in your life groups to register and attend this important weekend for our men’s ministry.
You can register for the retreat here. And as a gift to all of our deacons, we are giving you the flannel add-on. Please select it with your registration and use code DEACON at check out.
Thanksgiving Offering Update
We have raised over $56,000 so far through the generosity of our church in the thanksgiving offering for Compass Bible Church Hill Country’s renovations and our own. Praise God for His faithfulness, for the generosity of His church, and continue to pray that God would use both of these facilities for making disciples of Jesus for His Glory.
Application Questions:
Summer in the Psalms
Out of the Depths
Psalm 130
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Read 1 Peter 5:6-7. According to this verse, humility is connected to casting our anxieties on God. How can failing to look to God when you are in trouble be a symptom of pride in your own life?
What are some of the things/people you might turn to for help before God? What does this reveal about your heart?
Read Psalm 103:13. Meditate on this image of a father showing compassion to his children. How does this encourage you to look to God through the difficulties of life—including your own sin?
Read Psalm 27:14. What are some situations in your life that are troublesome to you? What will it practically look like for you to “wait on the Lord” and follow the instruction of this verse in those instances?
Read Psalm 130:7-8. What are some biblical future expectations you should have as a Christian that help you hope in God? (These could be based on God’s characteristics or promises he has made to his people.)

An Important Note About the Next Women’s Event
An Important Note About the Next Women’s Event
Ladies, our next women’s event is focused on motherhood and how moms should be connecting their role at home with the Great Commission. For those of you who lead groups that are predominantly past this life stage, I’d strongly encourage you to still come and even to intentionally invite a few strong examples from your group to come in order to encourage the younger women in our church (Titus 2). For this event, I’d even encourage leaders to intentionally team up with a group in a different life stage for the group discussion time for deeper conversation and perhaps ongoing relationships. I’m praying this event greatly helps the moms and even future moms of our church. - Pastor Ben
The event will be on Saturday, June 1st at the Pursuit (6151 N Discover Pl Boise, ID 83713) from 9-11:30am. You and the ladies in your group can register here.

Read 1 Peter 1:7. How have you experienced the joys that came as your faith is proven genuine through testing? How can that motivate further obedience?

Funeral Information for Deputy Tobin Bolter
Life Groups - More Prayer This Week
Funeral Information for Deputy Tobin Bolter
Pastor Ben sent out information via email which is pasted below. If anyone in your ministries or Life Groups has questions about the funeral, please direct them to the content of this email. As of sending this we still need 50 more volunteers to distribute the Gospel of John. Please share this need with your Life Group if you haven’t already and be sure to direct them to Chris as stated below.
Dear Church Family,
The funeral service for Deputy Tobin Bolter will be at 3pm on Tuesday at the Idaho Center. Here are a few ways you can be involved in the proceedings that afternoon:
Our church and the community will be directed to the outdoor amphitheater at the Idaho Center, as most of the inside of the facility will be reserved for our law enforcement community. It is recommended that you arrive early to find parking. Due to the solemn nature of the occasion and anticipated 3-hour service, the environment will not be conducive to young children.
There will be a large processional as Deputy Bolter’s body is transported from Bowman Funeral Home to the Idaho Center. Anyone is welcome to show support by lining the processional route. This could be a great option for whole families. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing information on the route.
The service will be livestreamed via the Ada County Sheriff’s Office YouTube Channel.
Due to the anticipated attendance from law enforcement officers from all over the country, the inside of the Idaho Center will be reserved for our law enforcement community, family, and close friends. Please do not attempt to go inside the building without a specific invitation.
Another essential way for our entire church family to be involved is through prayer. The greatest desire of Tobin’s family is for God to use this service to glorify Himself and proclaim the gospel. 4000 copies of the Gospel of John are being sent to the church to be distributed at the event. (If you’d like to serve on the team distributing the booklets, please e-mail chris@compassbible.tv) Pray that God uses the words spoken during the service, these booklets, and the ongoing testimony of the gospel to greatly impact our community. We will be praying for this during our Boiler Room prayer meeting this Sunday from 7:40-8:40am in the Heritage Library.
